Dr. Saad Dabbous the Imam and Director of Ummah Mosque and Community Center. Dr. Saad has been an invaluable asset to our community for many years, and we are delighted to welcome him back to lead our Mosque once again.
Imam Abdallah Yousri, holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Islamic jurisprudence from Al-Azhar University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Islamic Finance. He serves as the CEO of Ummah Society, striving to make the Society a community hub that reflects the true image of Islam. Imam Yousri received The Lieutenant Governor’s Faith in Action Award in 2019, becoming the first Muslim to earn this honor for his leadership that extends beyond religious duties and for bringing communities together.
Imam Mohammed Yaffa is a distinguished Islamic scholar and community leader who has dedicated over 24 years to serving the Halifax community. As a key figure in the Atlantic Muslim Resource Center (AMRC) and Ummah Society, he is leading strategic planning and development. Imam Yaffa is also a dedicated youth coach, counselor, and mentor, having worked extensively with university students and Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) in Halifax and beyond. Additionally, he offers mediation, arbitration, and counseling services to community members and he provides insightful trainings on Islam and Muslim cultures, addressing Islamophobia and leading impactful Dawa projects.
Imam Anass Ghalloun has been serving the community at Ummah Society for 10+ years. He provides counselling to community members, conducts marriages, works closely with new Muslims, and provides guidance on Islamic teachings and principles. Imam Anas has also been teaching Islamic Studies at Maritime Muslim Academy (MMA) working closely with our youth.
Sheikh Abdulrahman Dahy is the Manager of Religious Education Programs at Ummah Mosque and at Maritime Muslim Academy (MMA). He holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from Beirut Islamic University and is currently completing his Ph.D. thesis at Zaytuna University. With over 12 years of experience as a youth program supervisor and counselor, Sheikh Abdelrahman has extensive experience in Islamic parenting and youth development. He also worked as a lecturer and instructor, providing training in various institutions and charitable organizations.
